It’s time to face facts.
Polaroid is Dead.
We all know about the resourceful adventurers who are trying to keep instant sheet film alive. They are brave people and supremely worthy of our support.
The Polaroid we love in our bones is gone now.
That Polaroid existed for a long time. Most would say they had a pretty good run. But Dr. Edwin Land’s original films officially died when the last sheets were produced in the mid-2000s.
“Just Your Type” pays respect to six of the most coveted and dearly missed Polaroid film types, rendered in the iconic Trade Gothic font used by Polaroid designer Paul Giambarba in the 1960s and 70s.
What Type were you? Did you hoard 55 when it was discontinued? Are you saving that last box of 669 for something special?
